I bought this to replace a large tower PC that I was using for my media center PC hooked up to my 50″ LCD. Its very small, and fits nicely into the entertainment center which is the biggest pro. The biggest con is that its not nearly as fast as my desktop, which I do notice. I went from quad core w/ 8GB ram to this, so the difference is big. However, I do like the HDMI hookup and the way that it converts the content automatically before it goes on the TV so that it takes up the whole screen and looks as good as it can. HD looks pretty good, even when streaming. I wish the internet connection on it was a little faster, the wifi is just OK. I don’t use the included keyboard and mouse because I have the Logitech DiNovo Edge one which is just the nicest media center keyboard you can own for sitting on the couch and using your computer. One day I will mount the computer to the back of the TV, but it was easier to just set it down since I am still using an entertainment center.

I purchased this computer 2 weeks ago. I use computers everyday at work and have had home computers for years, but I am definitely no expert on them. This computer has been great! The set-up was really easy, it is fast, and my kids really love the Touch Smart screen and the different apps for it. I did have one slight problem when I first set up the unit though. According to the set-up directions, there is a receiver that plugs into the USB port that is supposed to receive the signal from the wireless mouse and keyboard. I looked everywhere for that thing and never found it. I finished the set-up process using the touchscreen. A while later I turned the mouse and keyboard on, just to see what would happen. Both the mouse and the keyboard work fine, so if you order this model you my want to keep that in mind. Other than that my experience has been very positive, and I would highly recommend this computer.

Apple iMac MC814LL/A 27-Inch Desktop (NEWEST VERSION) Best Seller!!!

Without going into too much back history, I can say the “short version” of this review is that it is a fantastic, speedy and powerful computer. I loaded it up with an extra 8GB of memory (Apple offers you an 8gb upgrade for a lot of money…you can buy an additional 8 to bring this machine up to 12 for half of what they charge you) and it just flies. I notice that apps that used to bounce for several seconds (sometimes 10+ bounces) now just bounce once before being fully open and operational. The screen is gorgeous, the all-in-one design is great and and the 1TB drive is spacious for all kinds of media.

This is a dual core processor clocked at 3.1GHz, Bought this for a HTPC build, was combined with 4GB of DDR3, a Biostar H61MH motherboard, 1TB HDD and an IOGear wireless keyboard. The computer is really fast and works great as a HTPC, its plugged into our 42" LCD using the HDMI port at 1080p. The video looks great even though the motherboard doesn't have a dedicated video card/chip. I've even played movies on XBMC while ripping a video at the same time, without any problems. All our videos (mkv and avi) look great, so does Hulu desktop. I haven't run any benchmarks but I do know that it rips videos about 50% faster than my Core2Duo Macbook pro.

Most users never put their machine through what makes a 3960x worth the $1200
and not everyone of my PC's need to do what my power machines do. This is my chip, and I'd love to try the 8core one day.One thing to note: UNlike the intel extreme editions, these chips clock down unlocked core usage, or so I have read.
Regardless, I love the system I built with this chip, and considering the price difference is tremendous, am to no end impressed. AMD promised a bit more with these chips than delivered (that is the opinion of most tech savvy types, and people in the industry I talked to) but one thing we all agree on is there is no better value for the money than this chip.
