Big Berkey Water Filter with 4 7″ British Berkefeld Ceramic Filters

We’ve had our Big Berkey for 10 years now and I appreciate it more all the time. One thing I did not realize is the ceramic filters last virtually forever and I bought a box of them — totally unnecessary. We use it to make the water taste better, but it’s a relief knowing we will have good water even after a hurricane or if there is a boil water alert. It’s easy to fill, plus, there’s no plastic bottle waste, no lifting cases of water from the store. The only possible negative is you do have to wait for the gravity feed to filter the water if you have just filled it. I think that is more than off-set by the positives.

I purchased a home that already had this filter system installed. The old filters were a little tough to twist out and it was not clear how to use the “alarm” that needed to merely be stuck to the side of the canister for easy reminder next year. Other than that, the filters came well packaged, on time and easy to install thankfully only once yearly at this price!

Kraus KPF-1602 Single Lever Pull Out Kitchen Faucet, Chrome

This terrific faucet looks, feels and acts like one costing 2 or 3 times its price. It is precisely put together, and unlike some of its more expensive competitors its sprayer is steel and brass, not plastic. It functions like the professional device it resembles – the sprayer has enormous pressure, and the quick-fill spigot unleashes vast quantities of water in seconds. All of its controls operate smoothly and with a great tactile sense. It is thoroughly satisfying to use. It’s big — but for a good reason. It allows the sprayer to hang out of your way when not needed, yet it’s right where you want it when you do need it. I’ve had mine now for about two weeks and wish I had gotten it sooner. After using this professional grade faucet, the old fashioned separate faucet and dinky sprayer (which sits on the sink’s edge and is hard to get back into its slot) will seem like something from a kid’s Barbie toy kitchen. I’m completely satisfied with this Kraus faucet, and am still amazed at the great value.

Delta 9159-AR-DST Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet, Arctic Stainless

Although we’ve only had this faucet for 3 months, we are now Delta converts. This is the best kitchen faucet we’ve owned. The pull out nozzle comes out smoothly AND goes back easily, thanks to the magnetic fitting. The flow of the water is excellent and the long reach of the spout perfect for our KOHLER K-3377-NA Swerve Self-Rimming Kitchen Sink, and the spray function toggles on and off easily. A sturdy faucet, better than faucets we’ve had from Danze, Moen, or Grohe. Looks modern and simple.

Danze D455158SS Parma Single Handle Pre-Rinse Faucet, Stainless Steel

This faucet is holding up nicely… there was one problem. The faucet head began leaking from the handle. I suspect the plumber may have gotten some pipe “dope” in there or some other debris. I tried to see if there was anything causing the problem and could not. I then emailed the company and within 7 days had a brand new nozzle from them, free, via UPS. Excellent customer service! I am very happy with both the company and with this faucet.

Delta 980T-SSSD-DST Pilar Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet with Touch2O Technology and Soap Dispenser, Stainless

We have had our Pilar ToucH2O faucet a year (since 11/08) and LOVE IT. So easy and fun! I am extremely picky and it exceeded my expectations. Makes working with raw meats so much cleaner and the water is always the temperature you set it for previously so I can keep mine on super hot the way I like it! ) Also, imagine the possiblities of having paint on your hands, garden soil, etc…
My family loves it as well and my brother just bought one as well for his newly remodeled kitchen. My Dad installed both of ours so it isn’t any harder than installing a ‘regular’ kitchen faucet.
Two days ago it appears the solenoid unit in ours went bad so we have very slow water flow. Called Delta and they are shipping a new one ASAP but if the slow flow bothers us until it arrives that there is a $9 solenoid bypass kit at most plumbing stores we can install until the new one arrives. No arguments at all and didn’t ask for proof of purchase. This faucet costs more than the cheapie ones but I had to replace the ‘cheapie’ one TWICE in two years for poor construction that led to leaks and non-working parts so I’ll stick with my Pilar! I will only update this review IF the new solenoid doesn’t work out or another issue occurs.
For those of you who have read about it going on and off by itself – that is simply the batteries not touching correctly. Our battery pack got jolted by us shoving the garbage can against it one day it it did the on/off thing a couple times until we realized what it was and popped them back in correctly. delivery took a little longer than expected, but when it arrived, all parts were included. It is great complement to new kitchen counter top installed. Features like adjustable water sprayer, swivel head, Pull down head – all worked great as advertised. Excellent deal – Saved closed to $200 from Local vendor charging retail price.
