Epson LQ-590 Impact Printer (C11C558001)

This printer is perfect for my office. I have to print 2 part, pin-fed checks for 3 hotels and the printer handles them with ease. I would have given it 5 stars, but I have to reset the top of form every time I want to print. It is a pain in the neck, but since everything else works great, I will continue to reset it.

I bought this printer to replace a color laser printer. So far I am impressed with this printer, it is quick and the quality is decent. It does not print photographic quality, but color lasers do not either. I have printed on a range of media from plain paper to card stock to transparency foils, and it has handled all of these without issue.

HP Officejet 100 Mobile Printer

This is my third HP portable printer -they do eventually wear out, and my first wireless version. We have a “portable office” with a printer and small Fujitsu scanner that we take along when we work at client’s offices. Epson Stylus Pro 3880 Color Inkjet Printer (CA61201-VM)

I’ve never done any high-end printing before. I always used on an online print service, but was frustrated with my lack of control over the process. Using a printer of this caliber can be a little overwhelming with Photoshop/Lightroom. It is critical to get your color management issues squared away before hand. It was very helpful to read: The Art of Printing Photos on Your Epson Printer – by Michael Freeman and John Beardsworth which was published earlier this year. This book was enlightening and it made my software/hardware choices much easier.
If you are tired of letting others have the final control over your very best images, are comfortable in PS or LR, utilize monitor calibration, can justify the expense, use higher end camera gear and enjoy the entire creative process that photography entails…..this is the printer you have been waiting for.

Epson Stylus Photo R2000 Wireless Wide-Format Color Inkjet Printer (C11CB35201)

The picture quality is absolutely brilliant. I didn’t know what to expect from a home photo printer but I had read so many reviews and run across so many people that have this model that I decided to bite the bullet (the $100 rebate also helped my decision). I’m a full time scrap booker and amateur photographer so I print a lot of photos. I like the freedom and flexibility of deciding how I want my photos printed on the spot instead of sending them out for print and realize that a different size photo would have worked better.
I just ordered extra ink cartridges from the Epson Store because I received a coupon code but the cartridges are a little pricey still.

Epson Artisan 1430 Wireless Wide-Format Color Inkjet Printer (C11CB53201)

I have a friend that is always taking pictures of her kids and creating artwork online and asking ME to print them so I decided to get her a basic printer that would do the trick. I wanted something with vibrant color and that did not gobble up ink. Got it with this one! The pictures she’s printed look really good and the amount ink used seems reasonable for what she’s printing. Epson also has pretty good ink prices too so that’s nice. There is not a scanner or fax or anything like that it prints and copies. It holds a good strong wireless connection. One thing; you will have to buy a certain cable to hook the printer up to your computer before you can connect it to wireless. That was a little frustrating but it was only $14 and was easy enough to do. It just seems if you need it it should come with it. But nothings perfect. All in all good machine for personal use.

Brother MFCJ6910DW Business Inkjet All-in-One Printer with 11-Inch x 17-Inch Duplex Printing, Scan Glass, Dual Paper Trays and Touchscreen

The 11×17 scanner is the main reason I bought this machine. You just cannot find this platform size for the price. It is fast and the scan quality is very good. The other features life FAX, print and copy and generous paper trays are icing on the cake. 11×17 photos are superb, even when their source is very lo-res. Brother support has been punctual, well trained and have solved my ‘operator’ trouble immediately…there has been no actual hardware issues. I am Very Satisfied with this product.

Brother MFC9560cdw Color Laser All-in-One with Wireless Networking and Duplex

This is for a small/medium business. We came from the HP Color Laser Jet CP3505n which was the same price. The HP I think prints slightly faster & the quality is slightly better, but it only does printing (and single page at that). This brother on the other hand has a slew of awesome options that we needed & prints more than fine. We needed a scanner that could scan to network folders & ftp locations. This printer works awesome for that. It actually replaced a $150 scanner we had because it’s so easy w/ the brother. The duplexing features have come in handy plenty of times too. Fax machine is pretty standard, no issues there. For the 1st month or 2, this printer seemed like baby jesus in my eyes, it could do no wrong.. until ….
One day I went to change out the black toner, and ran into a big problem. When I replaced the black toner, it was not recognizing that the toner had been changed & was now full. It would just obnoxiously blink “REPLACE TONER” & do nothing else. I actually bought 2 of these brothers & the other brother had the exact same issue. So I scour forums looking how to bypass the sensors or reset the toner manually. After trying every taping of the sensor trick I could find & looking for 2 days I found a way to manually reset the Toner low or Replace toner notifications (listed below).
Once I figured this out, everything else was smooth sailing, I just wish Brother didn’t make resetting the toner life so annoyingly difficult. It’s all good now though. I’d recommend this printer w/ the code below.

Samsung Color Multifunction Printer (CLX-3185FW)

I had a chance to put this All In One through its paces. I have 2 machines that I use one with Windows 7 32bit and one with Windows 7 64bit. They are both at SP1 level. I faxed from the All In One and from both PC, everything worked great. Next I tested the copy feature. Color was very good and Black and White was also very clear. Next I took it through the Scan Functions from both machines. I scanned to email using Outlook 2007 and 2010, it worked quickly without a flaw. I next scanned to image, same excellent results. Next I scanned to OCR, wow it was fast and accurate on Word 2007 and Word 2010. I am not sure what version of the software the previous reviewer was using but through my testing this software and Machine performed outstanding on both versions of Windows 7. At this point I am loving this Printer.

Brother IntelliFax 4750e High-Performance Business-Class Laser Fax

I debated and researched for weeks on different fax machines and brands. I had an older brother fax machine (5-6 years). It worked great but I had broken one of the trays and didn’t hold a lot of paper. I debated some of the Multi-function copier-printer-faxes. For only a few dollars more I could get one that duplexes and every other option imaginable. I have a copier. I have printers. I needed a fax. I receive 100-150 faxes a day. This is simply a great fax machine. Nothing more and absolutely nothing else. It is quiet and extremely fast. “Pick one thing and do it great” – this is what this machine does. It isn’t OK at a lot. It’s great at one thing. It sends and receives faxes.
